Tundra Adventure Charters Glacier Cruise

One of the most memorable experiences you can have in Alaska is a day on the water in Prince William Sound aboard the F/V Tundra with Captain John Earle. This 50' boat is incredibly nice and will feel like absolute luxury as you head to Blackstone Glacier on our exclusive charter with no more than 10-12 people. You'll be welcomed with a light breakfast as you head out of Whittier to Blackstone and Beloit Glaciers. On the way, you'll view mountains with alpine glaciers, seabirds and marine wildlife. Once you arrive, you'll be treated to jaw-dropping views of tidewater glaciers over 700 feet tall that are known for calving. Hang out amongst the icebergs as majestic waterfalls keep you mesmerized while you wait for massive chunks of glacial ice to fall into the water. Lunch will be served before returning in the afternoon. Keep your eye out for whales, which are often seen on this trip.

To get to Whittier from Anchorage, you'll drive along the Turnagain Arm, one of th most beautiful stretches of highway in America, toward Girdwood - the town where the famous Alyeska ski resort is located. Not too much further and you'll drive through an entire 2.5-mile-wide mountain, making it the longest highway tunnel in North America. The Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel tunnel is just wide enough to accommodate a single vehicle, so it's open to Whittier-Bound traffic on the 1/2 hour and from-Whittier traffic on the hour. Just before the tunnel is Portage Lake and The Begich, Boggs Visitor Center where you can view several glaciers and learn about the Chugach National Forest, America's 2nd largest national forest.

There's other companies offering a glacier cruise out of Whittier for less money, but we are confident it's worth a bit extra for our exclusive charter with 10x fewer people. We have a 5-6 hour charter booked for both June 11th and June 19th. Get together with your friends to decide if you would like to go before or after the boogie and we'll reserve it for you. The cost is $250 per person (+$8 if using a credit card). For reservations, contact us at jump@solsticeboogie.com. Let us know if there's other dates you're interested in, or if you would like to go out with Capt. John for a day of kayaking or fishing for silver salmon, which should be optimal right about then.
